Library Procedures

Books are checked out for one week at a time.

Students may check out one book at a time.

Students who have overdue books may not check out any new books.

If students owe for damaged and/or lost books they are welcome to check out new books once the damaged and/or lost books have been paid for.

Students must have a signed "Internet User Permission Form" on file at Centennial Elementary School if they are using the school's computers.

Damaged/Lost Book Policy

Fines for overdue books are not collected; however, there is a charge for damaged and/or lost books. The fee for damaged/lost books is the replacement cost of the book.

Overdue notices are distributed every week, but the first notice is given only after the book hasn't been returned for two weeks, or the student has missed a scheduled library time.

At the end of each of the first three quarters if students have books that are a month or more overdue the report cards will be held in the office until the books are returned and/or paid for. Report cards will be held in the office for any book that is not returned and/or paid for at the end of the school year.
